CNC milling of foundry patterns and 3D molds

We completed a complex industrial project involving CNC milling of a master foundry pattern for aluminum casting. A thick block of dense MDF was machined on a 3-axis CNC router to create a 3D model of a 12-spoke automotive wheel.

This master pattern serves as a mold for die-casting aluminum components. The milling process demanded strict adherence to tight tolerances and specific draft angles to ensure effortless mold release—achievable only through accurate software simulation and expertly generated CNC toolpaths.
